The difference between a TV on a wall and a media room.
A mounted TV with a power strip behind it is a mounted TV. A media room is everything you don’t see: the in-wall runs, the conduit for whatever comes next, the equipment somewhere ventilated and reachable, the speaker wire pulled before anyone patched the drywall, and one remote that works.

Why the trade matters here
Commercial practice assumes somebody opens the wall again.
Media rooms are where commercial AV practice and residential practice actually diverge, and the divergence is what costs people money. Commercial work assumes the room gets touched again — that someone will need to swap a projector, trace a run, or add a source in three years. So everything is labeled, documented and left accessible.
Residential installs frequently aren’t. The wire is unlabeled, the runs are undocumented, and the next person opens the wall to find out what’s in it. That’s the standard I hold this to. It costs a little more time up front, and it’s the difference between a room you can upgrade and a room you have to redo.

Every house is different — the number depends on run lengths, what’s in the attic, and how many drops you need. That’s what the free visit is for. You’ll have a written price before anything starts, and nothing gets ordered or cut until you’ve agreed to it.

We’ll talk on the phone first — five minutes, so I know what to bring and you know who’s coming. Then I come see it, and that visit is free. If what you’ve got is a ten-minute fix you can do yourself, I’ll show you and head out. You get a quote only if there’s real work worth doing, and only if it fits what you actually need and want to spend.
